This is how we will lead you on the path to physical wellness
After filling out your New Patient Health History Form, which gives us a better understanding of your present condition, we schedule a consultation with Dr. Jason Holt to discuss in detail your lifestyle, your condition, and your health goals.
Following this Dr. Holt will perform a complete chiropractic examination. We will also conduct a series of neurological, orthopedic, postural and physical texts but only with your consent. Some patients will require X-ray studies to help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you.
After we report our findings on the second visit and determine your treatment plan, how frequently you should visit, and the cost of treatment, Dr. Holt will commence treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and / or massage therapy.
We will then work with you to establish a wellness program which outlines recommended physical activity and healthy routines for you to adapt. The goal of this wellness program is to help you restore your health independently and maintain optimal health.
Phase One: Relief Care
Often people will visit a chiropractor in order to relieve pain, and we will work with you in this first phase of care to reduce symptoms. However, many patients are under the assumption that no pain means no problem. This is far from the truth – pain is a very poor indicator of your body’s present condition. There are several other phases patients must undertake in order to fully restore their health.
Phase Two: Corrective Care
Conventional medicine often “cures” patients by eliminating the symptoms. For chiropractors, this is just the easy part – covering the pain symptoms actually improves the chance of the condition recurring. We work to prevent symptom recurrence by providing corrective physical therapy both at the center and at home. See our procedures and techniques page to see how we can help you return back to optimal condition.
Mild pain flare-ups may occur, but this is a normal part of your body’s healing. This phase can last anywhere from a few months to years, depending on your condition.
Phase Three: Wellness Care
When your body is fully healed it’s still important to keep up with routine chiropractic care to make sure your physical ailments don’t return. This will keep your body in optimal condition, just like maintaining proper exercise and diet to ensure your musculoskeletal health.
Making regular chiropractic care a part of your normal health routine helps you avoid the aches and pains that come with daily life. Help your joints last longer so you can do what you love as you continue to age. If you are visiting or living in the Salem, OR area give us a call @ 503-589-0700 to schedule your consultation today.
